🎨 How to color it

Color the owl in soft tawny brown, the big round moon pale butter yellow, the branch warm chestnut, and the surrounding leaves forest green. Use chunky crayons for the owl’s belly and moon, then try a sharper crayon point for the small stars, leaf veins, and feather scallops. Add a gentle blue ring around the moon so the owl looks extra warm against the night.

The story behind this coloring page

Tavi Shares the Moonseed — Every night, under the silver hush, Tavi tapped the old moonwood branch and hooted once when the moon climbed over the leaves. Read the full story →

Every night, under the silver hush, Tavi tapped the old moonwood branch and hooted once when the moon climbed over the leaves. The bark felt cool under his claws, and the stars blinked like tiny sleepy eyes. Until one night, his tap made a hollow plink.

Because of that, Tavi bent close and found a seed shining inside a knot where no one ever peeked. Because of that, he called, “Come see!” and moths, beetles, and mice gathered in the blue dark. Until finally, Tavi nudged the moonseed free, and its soft glow filled every whisker and wing with quiet gold. Next time you see the old branch beneath Tavi, can you find where the hidden joy began?
