🎨 How to color it

Color the sugar skull ivory, the big flower crown in marigold orange, pink, and turquoise, and the cheek hearts bright red. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the large skull and eyes, then help little hands tap color into the tiny petals and curls. Try making the two eye highlights stay white so the skull looks extra sparkly.

Behind the flower workshop, Pip sniffed the warm air. Marigolds smelled like sunshine, but one tiny whiff seemed sweeter than all the rest. Pip tiptoed off the soft ribbon rug to follow it. Shh—don’t tell the ribbon spools.

Past the paint pots and crinkly paper leaves, Pip reached the crown table. A petal tickled Pip’s nose, and achoo! A red cheek heart got smeared with gold dust. “Worth it,” Pip whispered. Under one folded petal was a sugar crumb shaped like a star, humming with cinnamon.

Pip carried it back to the ribbon rug and tucked it into the crown’s middle flower. Now the whole workshop smelled like secret sunshine. Next time you see the biggest flower up top, can you guess which petal kept Pip’s secret?
