🎨 How to color it

Color the wooden Advent frame honey brown, the numbered compartments cranberry and pine green, and the candle flame golden yellow beside the blue-gray winter window. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny icons—pinecone scales, mitten cuffs, ornament bands, and woodgrain lines—so each little square stays crisp. Try making the top star bright silver and repeat that sparkle on the bell, snowflake, and the wreath stars to guide the eye down to 25.

The story behind this coloring page

By the lantern room window, Juniper tapped a pencil against her sleeve: tick, tick, wait. She wanted to trace the Advent map in order, one tiny door after another, while the room smelled of pine sap and warm candle wax. The wooden shelves creaked softly as evening blue gathered outside, and she saved the bright top square for last because its plain star had not caught the light yet.

She followed the numbers with quick fingers—mittens, snowflake, deer, pinecone—pausing whenever the candle flame leaned and made shadows hop. At nine, a robin shape seemed ready to step from its cubby. At sixteen, her pencil raced around the skate. Still, she waited for the top star, tapping slower now: tick... tick... wait.

Then something brushed the glass with a dry, icy whisper. A real snowflake, shaped almost like the carved one, stuck to the windowpane and flashed the candlelight straight across the room. The top star answered in silver. “So that’s who you were waiting for,” Juniper whispered.

Now she traced the calendar by both lights, inside and outside, her pencil flying but never skipping ahead. If you follow the little numbers with your eyes, can you find where Juniper’s patient tick, tick, wait turned into shine?
