Behind the velvet curtain, warm dryer air went whoo-whoo, and Taffy set her comb beside her paws. She had invented Tickle-Comb, a game where nobody giggled until three whole sparkles blinked. One sparkle. Two sparkles. Her big bow sat still, but her fluffy ears wanted to wiggle.

Taffy waited. The comb waited. Even the candy swirls on the wall seemed to hold their breath.
