🎨 How to color it

Give the fox’s main fur a russet orange, the inner ears a soft peach, the cheek circles a pale cream, and the diamond shapes a golden yellow. Use sharp colored pencils for the small triangles around the eyes and ears, coloring from the outer lines toward the centers. Try alternating two oranges along the tail’s long zigzag sections so it looks handmade and carefully woven.

Under the smooth pebble bridge, Tess rubbed two twigs together: click, click. She wanted to weave a sash for her tail before moonrise, but her last thread had snapped with a soft ping. So she stepped out from her warm fern bed and padded to the creek, where wet stones smelled like rain.

At the bridge, she paid a small price: one paw slipped into cold water. “Brrr, but I can do it,” she whispered. Behind the flattest stone, where nobody looked, lay a silver thread, fine as spider silk. Tess carried it home, wove it through her sash by paw, and felt tall with quiet pride. Next time you see her careful tail patterns, can you spot the place where the silver thread begins?
