🎨 How to color it

Color the wolf’s leafy fur in soft slate gray and cream, the large blossoms in dusty rose, and the curling vines in sage green. Use sharp colored pencils for the narrow leaf veins inside the ears, cheeks, and neck, working from the outer edges toward each pointed tip. Try adding pale lavender shadows inside the vine curls so the warm flowers seem to nestle against cool moonlit fur.

Under the glass roof of the moon conservatory, Elo carried a pressed clover in his teeth and padded between sleeping vines. The clover had come from his den mat, still smelling faintly of milkweed, dust, and warm paws. He wanted the farthest flower to know where he belonged, but the garden gate had clicked shut behind him with a silver sound.

A cold breeze slid through the panes. The vines woke, whispering scratch-scratch along the tiles, and wound around the path until Elo could not find the way back. “I brought home,” he said softly, setting the clover on the soil. Its dry little heart gave one green spark.

The flowers bent close. Leaves brushed Elo’s cheeks, ears, and chest like soft paintbrushes dipped in moonlight. The clover’s scent spread through every curling stem, and the vines opened a tunnel shaped exactly like his den door. Ever since that night, wolves have carried garden lines in their fur, so any blooming place can remember they are not strangers. If you meet a wolf among flowers, see if the leaves on its face are pointing home.
