Under two blinking stars, Felix the fox patted his blanket flat and wished for one soft bedtime glow. His flashlight gave only a tiny click-click, not even enough to find his striped sock. So Felix stepped out from his warm tent, paws brushing cool grass, and followed the big letter F standing near the flap. The night smelled like pine needles and damp earth.
He searched around the tent peg, under a leaf, and beside the flashlight’s round nose. His toes got chilly, and he had to wait while a beetle slowly crossed his path. At last he heard a faint fff-flicker from inside the bottom curve of the F. “There you are,” he whispered. A little jar of fireflies glowed where nobody had looked. Felix carried it back, patient and sleepy, and next time you see the F, can you spot the quiet flash under the two blinking stars?
