🎨 How to color it

Color the panda’s tutu petal pink, the tied theater curtains deep red, and the scattered stars bright gold. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny star points, ballet shoe ribbons, and wavy skirt ruffle, then fill the curtain panels with longer strokes. Try making the skirt fade from pink at the waistband to lavender at the ruffled edge, like a little stage-light glow.

The story behind this coloring page

Behind the velvet wings, Juno tapped one slipper on the warm wooden floor and counted the orchestra’s bouncy drumroll. She wanted to take her first solo turn all the way across the starlit stage, from curtain knot to curtain knot, without grabbing the side rope. The red curtains smelled dusty and grand, and the painted stars above her seemed to wink, Tap, tap, go.

She sprang out, arms wide, tutu swishing like paper fans. One turn became two; two became a bright, dizzy circle. Her courage felt small but real, like a pebble in her paw. When her toe landed on a floorboard that gave a soft clack, Juno paused, not scared—curious. “Did the stage just answer me?” she whispered.

She nudged the loose board with her slipper. Up popped a tiny tin star, hidden where nobody thought to look, with a note curled inside: FOR THE FIRST DANCER WHO HEARS THE FLOOR APPLAUD. Juno tucked the star by her flower clip and spun again, faster than before. If you follow the boards beneath her slippers, you might guess which one said clack under the starlit stage.
