🎨 How to color it

Color the dolphin ocean blue, the palm fronds bright green, the sandy shore golden tan, and the smiling sun lemon yellow. Use broad crayon or marker strokes for the dolphin and sky, then switch to a sharper pencil for the small splash drops and bird shapes. Try making the water splash two blues—light aqua inside the loops and darker blue along the curling wave lines.

The story behind this coloring page

Della’s Not-So-Secret Button — Every morning, Della tapped her tiny red button on a flat sea rock: tik-tik, splash-splash, good morning, inlet! Read the full story →

Every morning, Della tapped her tiny red button on a flat sea rock: tik-tik, splash-splash, good morning, inlet! The button had fallen from her first rescue vest, so it felt like a medal. Pelicans bobbed, palm leaves clacked, and Della popped bubbles in time. Until one day, a gull snatched the button, thinking it was a berry, and dropped it onto a floating coconut shell.

Because of that, the crabs marched after the shell like it was a parade drum. Because of THAT, the turtles joined, honking through their noses, and the whole inlet went wobble-wobble wild. “That’s my morning!” Della squeaked. She sprang up, flipped over the shell, and plink! caught the button on her nose. Finally, she tapped it once, and everyone splashed the right beat. Next time you see her big splash, can you hear tik-tik, splash-splash, good morning, inlet?
