Under the swishy weeds of Shell Meadow, Quincy tucked his tiny click-stone under one claw and skittered, tap-tap-tap, toward the bright sand path. He wanted to join the first tide parade before the bubbles popped away. The stone was small and smooth, but when it clicked, Quincy’s legs felt ready.
Past pink shells, over wavy sand, around pebble bumps—zoom! A starfish bounced beside him, laughing in little squeaks. “That’s my parade drum!” she called. Quincy blinked. His brave stone was a beat-maker! So he held it high and clicked a marching rhythm while the starfish danced below.
