🎨 How to color it

Color the Wildcats uniform royal blue, the helmet silver, the football chestnut brown, and the Stadium Arch warm limestone. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny crowd, scoreboard dots, laces, and jersey letters, then switch to markers for the broad field and uniform panels. Try a golden-to-teal gradient inside the swirling ribbon so the stars behind the quarterback look like they are carrying the pass.

The Pass That Became Music — Under Stadium Arch, Jory tucked the football against his ribs and listened. Read the full story →

Under Stadium Arch, Jory tucked the football against his ribs and listened. Cleats clicked on the painted 50, flags snapped above the towers, and the crowd hummed like a faraway ocean in a shell. He had just invented Echo Pass: throw only after naming something wonderful. “Clouds!” he called, and the word felt bright in his mouth.

He stepped, turned, and sent the ball spinning. The leather made a soft whup-whup, and a pale ribbon seemed to follow it, curling over the yard lines. When Jory shouted “grass!” the crowd answered with “green!” When he shouted “lights!” they answered with “shine!” Joy grew too big for one helmet.

Then the surprise came from high above: the two scoreboards blinked their round bulbs in rhythm, spelling each answer before anyone said it. The whole stadium was playing too. Jory laughed, lifted his throwing hand, and shared one last word—“clouds!” Next time you spot the stars in that swirling pass, see if Stadium Arch is still humming it back.
