🎨 How to color it

Color the jack-o’-lantern bright pumpkin orange, the curled stem olive green, the candy corn yellow-orange-white, and the moon pale silver. Use chunky crayons for the big pumpkin sections, and don’t worry if little hands color over the curved lines. Try making each star a different Halloween color, like purple, teal, and gold.

Every evening, Norby sat in the tickly hill grass and counted the stars before one candy corn could go into his grin. “One... two... wait,” he whispered, because he had invented the Slow-Glow Game: no candy until the moon climbed over the cloud.

Until one night, the moon hid and hid. Because of that, Norby rocked back and forth, creak-creak, and one candy corn tumbled out. Because of THAT, he had to start again, listening to the soft wind brush his leafy stem. At last, the silver moon slipped free, and Norby’s whole grin felt bright. Next time you see the candy corn in the grass, can you guess which piece waited the longest?
