🎨 How to color it

Color the cheer uniforms cherry red and white, the pom-poms bright gold, the football field turf deep green, and the bleachers cool silver. Between the 30 and 40, Nova tapped her sneaker twice, then three times, trying to catch the odd little rustle above the bleachers. The squad was waiting for the band, the turf smelled warm and rubbery, and the big empty banner sagged between its poles like it was holding its breath. Then a voice, thin as paper, hissed, “Psst. I know where the missing sound went.”

Nova’s curiosity ran straight off without asking permission. She followed the rustle to the sideline, where an unexpected visitor clung to the banner’s hem: a tiny wind sprite, tangled in thread, cheeks puffed with stolen cheers. “Too many loose yells,” it whispered. “They needed tying.” Nova raised one gold pom-pom and shook it once—shhhh-RAH! The sprite sneezed. Every cheer popped loose, but not as noise. They landed in tidy beats: clap-clap, stomp, shout.
