🎨 How to color it

Color the monkey warm cocoa brown with a cream belly, the peeled banana sunny yellow, and the big jungle leaves in lime and deep green. Use chunky crayons or markers for the monkey’s round belly and wide branch, then switch to a sharper green pencil for the thin palm fronds and leaf veins. Try making the banana bunch above him a mix of yellow and light green, as if some are ripe and some are still waiting.

High in the leafy canopy, Pip peeled one banana with a pop and tapped it on the branch. Boop! Then he tapped a leaf. Boop! Then his own fuzzy knee. Boop-boop! The warm air smelled like green bananas, and Pip grinned so hard his cheeks felt wiggly.

He invented the Banana Boop Game: every boop meant one bite for someone nearby. Boop on the branch, a bite for the sleepy parrot. Boop on a leaf, a bite for the tiny beetles. Boop on his knee, a bite for Pip—maybe two.

Then the hanging bunch above him answered with a soft plunk. A banana dropped right beside a shy little kinkajou hiding under the leaves. Pip blinked. The tree was playing too! So Pip gave one last quiet boop and slid his peeled banana down the branch. If you peek between the leaves, can you tell who got the snack nobody saw him share?
