🎨 How to color it

Color the astronaut’s suit bright white with sky-blue trim, the rocket cherry red with silver fins, the crescent moon buttery yellow, and the ringed planets lavender and mint. Use chunky crayons or markers for the rocket body and moon, then switch to a sharper crayon tip for the little stars, buttons, and helmet patches. Try making the rocket flames orange-to-yellow and leave a few stars plain white so the busy sky still sparkles.

Every evening, Willa rolled one tiny brass bead between her gloves and waited for Spark Three. Pop, went Spark One. Fizzzz, went Spark Two. But Spark Three never came before the moon yawned over the launch lane.

One night, the bead warmed in her palm and clicked like a cricket. Because of that, Willa held the rocket steady instead of zooming off. Because of THAT, a shy window-rider tapped from inside the nose cone, stuck behind a jammed latch. “Wait one more wiggle!” Willa called.

At last—POP!—Spark Three burst gold, the latch sprang open, and the rocket whooshed past the smiling moon with Willa waving both mitts. If you spot her little brass bead, you’ll know why she waited for Spark Three.
