🎨 How to color it

Color the bunny soft pearl gray, the big heart strawberry pink, the cheek ovals peach, and the scattered stars lemon yellow. Use chunky crayons or markers for the wide heart and rabbit body, then switch to a sharper crayon tip for the tiny dots and star points. Try making the heart lighter in the middle and darker around the edge, as if the bunny’s handmade surprise is glowing.

Under her moss shelf, Junie pressed two leaf halves into a heart and whispered, “I can make it shine.” She wanted a lantern for the burrow tunnel, but her paint was only pink mud. So she set herself a challenge: hop past the hush-log, scoop one pinch of glow-dust, and be back before the crickets clicked three times. Outside, the moonberry thicket smelled sweet and cold. Prickly stems tugged three soft hairs from her tail, and the shadows made tiny pop-pop sounds.

At the oldest moonberry, Junie found the secret: glow-dust did not fall from berries. It came from rubbing two dry seed pods together. Scritch, scritch—silver specks danced onto her leaf heart. Junie carried it home with muddy paws and a proud thump in her chest. In the tunnel, the handmade lantern warmed every wall. If you spot the big heart in her paws, can you guess where the silver specks are hiding?
