🎨 How to color it

Color the sleeping rabbit soft pearl gray, the crescent moon buttery yellow, the three stars bright gold, and the little grass tufts fresh green. Use chunky crayons for the rabbit’s big round body and light side-to-side strokes for the curved hill lines. Add a deep blue night sky around the moon and dots, or leave a pale glow right above the rabbit’s closed eye.

Under the hush-hush sky, Lumi crept up Moon Hill to gather silver moss for her scratchy nest. The grass tickled her paws, and the stars made tiny pinprick winks. She had never climbed after dark before, so every beetle click sounded enormous.

Then—plip!—a skinny moonbeam slipped from the crescent and landed beside her nose. “Please,” it whispered, cold as a spoon, “I do not know how to touch the ground.” Lumi’s ears trembled, but she tucked the moonbeam under her chin and made one small hop.

The hill glowed. Not bright. Not scary. Soft. Ever since that night, moonlight has hopped gently over sleeping fields, because one little rabbit showed it how. Next time you see the curled rabbit under the crescent, keep the secret: the first soft hop began right there.
