Under the sneezy-sweet daisies, a pony named Demi poked her nose into every bloom. She wanted to know why the wind kept saying, “Psst-psst,” right by her cheeks. Then a butterfly with curly wings landed on the tall daisy and whispered, “Don’t tell the beetles.”
The butterfly pulled two soft loops from a daisy stem, cool as morning grass. “For catching whispers,” she said. Demi stood very still while the loops rested beside her smile. The wind blew, the flowers nodded, and every psst-psst slid gently to Demi’s ears. Ever since, little ponies wear bridles so wandering whispers have a place to land. Next time you spot Demi’s cheek loops, can you guess which whisper arrived first?
