🎨 How to color it

Try bubblegum pink for the heart-covered shells, navy blue for the polka-dot wings, lemon yellow for the smiling daisies, and mint green for the stitched patches. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny hearts, dots, chevrons, and crosshatch squares, turning the page as you follow each curved wing. For a preppy twist, alternate two shades on the striped wings and add a pale sky-blue shadow behind the busiest beetle cluster.

The story behind this coloring page

Bramble’s Pattern Dash — Every day after lunch, Bramble zipped through the daisy haberdashery and tapped one new pattern: stripe, dot, heart, check, chevron. Read the full story →

Every day after lunch, Bramble zipped through the daisy haberdashery and tapped one new pattern: stripe, dot, heart, check, chevron. She had set herself a harder challenge for summer—collect five fresh patterns before the sundial’s last warm stripe slid off the petal counter.

Until one day, the drawer of tiny fabric squares burst open with a papery whuff, and the breeze snatched the samples into the air. Because of that, Bramble chased a zigzag patch past the thrum of wings and the peppery smell of pollen. Because of that, every beetle in the shop shot after a different scrap, calling, “Left by the daisies!” as dots, hearts, and checks tumbled like kites.

At last, Bramble stopped racing the scraps and raced the wind instead, circling wide until the fluttering pieces spun into one neat whirlwind. She caught five patterns in her legs and laughed so hard her antennae shook. Next time you spot the beetles between the smiling flowers, can you guess which five Bramble tapped before the sundial lost its warm stripe?
