🎨 How to color it

Color the crab coral red, the raised claw spots sunny yellow, the sandcastle warm tan, and the bucket ocean blue. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the crab’s big shell and claws, then switch to a sharper crayon point for the tiny castle windows and flag. Try making the waves pale teal and the sand soft peach so the crab’s happy face pops forward.

Under a silver moon, Rufus the crab patted wet sand into a little gate for the tide path. Slap, pat, scrape went his claws. He wanted the path ready before the sleepy waves came whispering in. Then a tiny blue light blinked inside an empty bucket, and out stepped a tide-sprite no bigger than a shell button, holding a torn flag.

“Please don’t watch,” it whispered, smelling like salt and rain. So Rufus turned around and worked by moonlight, lifting his big claws to block the wind while the sprite mended the flag on a sandcastle tower. No one clapped. No one saw. But when morning came, every beach flag began to wiggle a little thank-you whenever a kind deed happened in secret. Ever since, if you spot Rufus grinning near a castle flag, maybe you can catch the thank-you before it stops.
