Every evening, Willa hummed to the meadow as the grass went shush-shush and the bare trees clicked their twig fingers. She wanted her little song to reach the far hill, but the wind always tucked it close around her round orange sides.
Until one day, an oak leaf bumped her stem and would not blow away. Because of that, Willa peeked under its curled edge and found a seed glowing like warm honey. Because of that, she sang to the seed, and the seed answered, “Share me.” Finally, Willa tossed its light into the dusk, and every leaf on the grass blinked gold.
