🎨 How to color it

Color the smiling airplane cherry red, the propeller sky blue, the wind-up key golden yellow, and the chunky stars lemon yellow. Use crayons or markers for the big wing panels and round body, saving a sharper pencil for the tiny rivets and wheel spokes. Try making the curly clouds pale lavender so the red airplane feels extra warm and bright.

Every evening, Junie rolled three slow circles around the toy airport, click-click-clicking her little propeller while moon dust silvered the runway. She wanted to peek past the clocktower clouds, but her wheels always stopped at the painted white line.

Until one day, the wind-up key on her back made a new sound: ting! Because of that, Junie turned it once more. Because of THAT, a tiny folded star slipped out from a crack nobody had checked. “For first brave turns,” whispered the note, smelling faintly of brass and rain.

Junie tucked the star by her window and rolled forward. The air felt cool as ribbon. Up she went, not far, just high enough to see the cloud curls glow. Next time you spot her small smile, listen for that first click-click-click.
