🎨 How to color it

Color the eagle’s head snowy white, the hooked beak golden yellow, the fierce eye amber, and the double circle badge navy blue. Use chunky crayons or markers to fill the big beak and round border first, then add quick strokes into the jagged feather points. Try a pale sky-blue shadow behind the eagle so the white head still stands out.

The story behind this coloring page

The Badge Under the Nest — High on the cliff ledge, Tavi rubbed a cedar chip with one wing tip. Read the full story →

High on the cliff ledge, Tavi rubbed a cedar chip with one wing tip. He wanted to make a wind badge before sunset, but all he had were dry grass, bent twigs, and one very sticky pine drop. The sea below went hush-hush, and the old nest creaked. “I need one bright piece,” Tavi said.

He stepped out to the cracked stones where cold mist tickled his feet. A pebble slipped—click!—and Tavi scraped one claw, but he kept tugging at a loose root under the nest. Out slid a flat shell, silver as moonlight, hidden where nobody looked. Back in his warm hollow, he pressed grass, twigs, and shell into a round badge with his own careful claws. Next time you see the sharp eye in the circle, can you spot the secret shine Tavi carried home?
