Every morning, Pip gripped the bendy pine branch and counted clouds over the windy treetops. He wanted to invent the silliest game in the sky: if a cloud looked like lunch, he got to shout its name.
One day, no clouds came. Because of that, Pip named everything anyway. “Pebble pancake!” he cried at a rock. Because of THAT, two squirrels laughed so hard they dropped pine nuts—plip, plip, plip—onto his toes.
Pip waited, feathers tickling in the warm breeze, until finally one fat cloud floated up behind him. It looked exactly like a giant mashed potato. “Tater cloud!” Pip hooted, and everyone cheered. Next time you see Pip on his bendy branch, can you spot the cloud that was worth the wait?
