🎨 How to color it

Color the eagle’s body golden brown, the striped party hat bright teal and orange, the polka-dot balloon lemon yellow, and the star balloon sky blue. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the big wings and balloons, and don’t worry if little hands color over the tiny confetti pieces. Try making the bunting alternate purple and pink so the eagle looks like it is standing right in the middle of a surprise party.

The story behind this coloring page

Milo’s Balloon-Room Secret — Behind the cupcake tower, Milo tapped his claws—tap, tap, tap—waiting for the welcome ribbon. Read the full story →

Behind the cupcake tower, Milo tapped his claws—tap, tap, tap—waiting for the welcome ribbon. The rooftop party smelled like frosting and paper streamers, but the doorway stayed plain. “Psst,” he whispered, “a party needs its hello.”

So Milo waddled past the bunting, under fluttery stars, and into the balloon corner where the strings tickled his wings. One red string tugged loose and snapped his favorite paper crown crooked. Pop? No—whuff! Inside the spotted balloon was a rolled ribbon that said, YOU ARE ALREADY HOME.

Milo carried it back and tied it above the doorway. Everyone cheered so warmly his feathers felt fizzy. Next time you spot his crooked hat and two balloons, keep the secret: the best hello was hiding where nobody looked.
