🎨 How to color it

Give the panda soft black-and-white fur, the draped canopy a sleepy lavender, the pillows butter yellow, and the moons and stars warm gold. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the big curtains and pillows, and don’t worry if little hands color over the thick outlines. Try making the hanging charms alternate gold star, pale blue moon, gold star, like a tiny bedtime pattern game.

The story behind this coloring page

Kiko’s Sky-Share Game — Under the tall blanket roof, Kiko patted the quilt: pat, pat, hush. Read the full story →

Under the tall blanket roof, Kiko patted the quilt: pat, pat, hush. He had just invented Sky-Share, a game where the moon cushion got one gentle squeeze, then the star cushion got one gentle squeeze, then the joy had to be passed to something else. The pillows smelled like clean cotton and sun-warmed naps. “Your turn, little moon,” Kiko whispered, pressing the crescent to his chest.

The game grew slowly. Kiko shared a squeeze with the left pillow, the right pillow, and the saggy blanket fold above his ears. Then a funny thing happened: the tiny hanging stars began to sway, though no paw had touched them. The paper moons tipped forward as if they were listening. Kiko smiled so wide his cheeks felt round as buns. He shared one last squeeze with the whole soft fort, and the charms shared back with a silver wiggle. If you peek into Kiko’s pillow nest, can you find which moon is still waiting for its turn?
