🎨 How to color it

Color Santa’s suit cherry red, the snowman’s scarf candy-cane red and sky blue, the top hat charcoal gray, and the pine trees deep evergreen. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for Santa’s coat and the round snowman, then switch to a sharper crayon tip for the small snowflakes and hat holly. Try making the carrot nose bright orange and the falling snow a pale blue so the white snowman still stands out.

Under the whispery pines, Winnie packed snow with soft pat-pat sounds and set herself a challenge: tie one scarf that would not slip before morning. She wrapped it around her snow friend once, twice, three times. The wind sniffed through the trees and tugged the ends loose. Winnie’s mittens felt wet and cold, but she only tucked the fringe in again. “Stay, little scarf,” she whispered.

Santa came through the clearing with a sack that smelled like peppermint paper and cedar bows. He did not hurry Winnie. He stood beside the snow friend and gave him the warmest, gentlest hug, pressing the scarf snug between his red sleeve and the round snowy middle. The knot settled, calm as a sleeping bird. Ever since then, snowmen wear scarves to remember the hug that taught them how to wait. Can you spot the scarf that stayed?
