🎨 How to color it

Color the crescent moon pale butter yellow, the puffy clouds soft sky blue, and the smiling star bright golden orange with the smaller stars in lemon yellow. Use broad, gentle crayon strokes inside the moon and clouds, then switch to a sharper pencil for the tiny star points and the moon’s curved eyelids. Try making the clouds a little pink along the bottom edges, as if the night is blushing at the moon’s quiet kiss.

The story behind this coloring page

Pip’s Moonbeam Swap — High above the rooftops, Pip the star invented a game called Moonbeam Swap. Read the full story →

High above the rooftops, Pip the star invented a game called Moonbeam Swap. He zipped from sparkle to sparkle, whispering, “Trade you one twinkle!” The night smelled cool, like rain on stone, and the clouds puffed along with soft whoosh-whoosh sounds. The crescent moon dozed nearby, silver cheek tucked into a cloud, while Pip counted every borrowed glimmer with a giggly wink.

Soon Pip had a whole pocketful of shine. Then he spotted the twist: the moon was not sleeping at all. She was gently blowing her own moonlight through the clouds, making a secret blanket for the small stars who felt dim. Pip snorted so hard he nearly dropped a twinkle. Quietly, he sprinkled all his traded beams into the blanket too. Nobody clapped. Nobody saw. But the clouds glowed warm, the moon smiled, and if you peek at the little stars around them, can you guess which extra sparkles were Pip’s?
