🎨 How to color it

Color the crab coral red, the waving seaweed sea green, the smooth rocks sandy tan, and the starfish bright yellow. Use chunky crayons or markers for the crab’s big round body, then switch to a sharper crayon tip for the narrow seaweed strips and tiny bubbles. Try making the bubbles pale blue and leaving one white sparkle in each, just like the crab’s shiny eyes.

Under the warm tide, Vona tapped two pebbles—click, click—trying to wake a sleepy pool before the sun slipped behind the reef. She wanted everyone to see the golden shimmer she had glimpsed at morning, but the water looked green and secret, and the seaweed only swished, hush-hush. “Where did you hide it?” she whispered. A tiny bubble popped beside a plain shell no bigger than her smile.

Vona pried the shell open with both claws. Inside was not a pearl, not a snack, but a pocket of summer light, buzzing softly like a bee in a jar. She lifted it high, and gold danced over the stones, shells, and starfish until every crab came skittering to share the glow. Ever since then, crabs carry their claws up proudly, ready to hold any sunburst the tide forgets. If you spot Vona’s raised claws, can you tell which little shell kept the secret?
