🎨 How to color it

Color the fox pumpkin orange with a cream chest and tail tip, make the Santa hat cranberry red, and give the ornament-covered tree deep pine-green branches with gold bells. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny scarf stars, bead garlands, candy canes, and snowflakes, then switch to broader strokes for the fox’s big tail and the snowy banks. Try a pale blue glow around the star on top of the tree so the falling snow looks extra quiet and bright.

The story behind this coloring page

Why Tree Stars Share Light — Under the hush of new snow, Arlo packed the brightest fallen snow-star into his scarf and padded toward the little pine clearing. Read the full story →

Under the hush of new snow, Arlo packed the brightest fallen snow-star into his scarf and padded toward the little pine clearing. He had set himself a challenge: keep one star shining until morning without letting a single spark slip away. The air smelled of cold bark and peppermint berries. Each time he tucked the star closer, its light grew smaller, like a firefly falling asleep.

At the clearing, the pine animals had hung bells, striped sweets, and round glass baubles, but the top branch stood dark. Arlo climbed the snow mound, paws squeaking, and lifted his cupped star. “You can have the highest place,” he whispered.

The star opened wide, spilling silver over every bell and whisker. Joy filled Arlo so quickly he laughed, and the pine shivered with the sound. Ever since, the star at the top of a winter tree shines best when everyone can see it; next time you spot one, see if its glow is trying to share Arlo’s laugh.
