🎨 How to color it

Color the stingray soft lavender, the big round bubbles pale aqua, the scallop shell peach, and the coral branches sunny orange. Use chunky crayons or broad markers to fill the ray’s wide body first, and don’t worry if little hands color over the curvy edges. Try making each tiny starfish a different bright color so they feel like quiet underwater twinkles around the ray.

Under the soft sand, Benna tucked a dull pearl button under one fin. She wanted it to glow. “Wait, little moon,” she whispered, and slid out, swish-swish, toward the warm bubble vents.

A tickly current tugged her ribbon tail. Pop! Pop! Bubbles bumped her cheeks, and she had to let three tiny fish hide beneath her wide wings. At last, the button warmed and shone pearly pink.

Benna carried it home slowly, sleepy and proud. Next time you see her smile, can you find the little moon that finally waited bright?
