Every day, Bram scooted flat along Shell Lane, nose low in the sandy swish, trying to pass the three noisy shells without making one squeak. He wanted the quietest trip to breakfast, because shrimp crumbs tasted better before anyone noticed him.
Until one day, the striped scallop gave a tiny “Ah... ah...” and sneezed bubbles right under Bram’s belly. Because of that, Bram popped up like a pancake in a pan. Because of THAT, the twisty conch giggled so hard it spun, and the pearly shell shouted, “Your spots are dancing!”
Bram’s fins wobbled. Then he puffed one small bubble back. “Boo.” The scallop sneezed again—PFFFT!—and Bram laughed all the way through the swishy sand. Next time you spot his wide eyes between the shells, ask if he is sneaking to breakfast or waiting for another sandy swish.
