🎨 How to color it

Color the fish’s body peachy orange, the scalloped scales sunny yellow, the fins coral pink, and the bubbles pale aqua. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big round belly and tail, then try a sharper crayon point for the small hearts and scale bumps. For a playful twist, make the cheek hearts bright red and add tiny blue-white shine spots inside each bubble.

Every day, Pip puffed bubbles at the tide-pool workshop and watched them pop: plip, plop, pffft. He wanted a bubble button that would stay round long enough to decorate his shell cart. One day, a tiny crab in a bottle-cap hat skittered in and snapped, “Too wobbly!”

Because of that, Pip mixed seaweed glue with sand sparkles, and the workshop smelled salty and silly. Because of that, the crab sneezed—ACHOO!—and his hat stamped perfect heart shapes into the wet bubbles. Finally, Pip pressed each one with his own fins until they dried bumpy and bright. Next time you spot those heart cheeks and floating bubbles, can you find the crab’s sneaky button idea?
