🎨 How to color it

Color the strawberry ruby red with pale yellow seeds, the apple candy red with a green leaf, and the banana sunny yellow with a brown stem tip. Use chunky crayons or broad marker strokes inside the big fruit shapes, then switch to a sharpened pencil for the strawberry seeds, sparkles, and tiny cheek marks. Try giving each fruit rosy pink cheeks so their three different smiles feel like they belong together.

Under the bent apple twig, Tavi pressed a round leaf flat with both little hands. He had challenged himself to make a moon badge before the first cricket chirped. Snip, pat, fold—almost done! But the badge needed one secret sparkle, the kind whispered about in the grass beyond the fruit row. Tavi tucked the leaf under his stem and stepped out. The evening smelled like mint and dirt, and the grass brushed his feet with tickly hushes.

At the old clover stump, a soft voice said, “Trade a shine for a shine.” Tavi rubbed one glossy spot from his red side onto a pebble, and the pebble opened like a tiny lamp. Inside was silver dust, cool as flour. Back home, he patted it onto the leaf badge with careful fingers. Strawberry held it steady; Banana hummed low. When the cricket chirped, Tavi wore a handmade moon on his chest—and if you peek at the three friends, can you spot where that secret sparkle might land next?
