🎨 How to color it

Layer emerald and teal through the parrot’s wing feathers, make the round sun a clear golden yellow, and use deep jungle greens for the split-leaf foliage around the border. Because the feathers, rays, and leaves are divided into many narrow panes, use sharp colored pencils and work section by section from the center outward. Try a warm-to-cool shift in the sunburst pieces—amber near the circle fading into pale blue at the leafy edges—to make the parrot feel newly airborne.

Before the heat rose, a parrot named Arden raced the glass jungle’s green corridors, claws clicking over vine-smooth frames, wanting only to cross the dawn gate without turning back. The sun swelled ahead, bright as citrus peel, and his wings beat fast enough to hum. He rose through the ring—and laughed, because the surprise was not beyond it but inside it: a tiny map etched in the gold, hidden where every bird had been too dazzled to look. “I can follow that,” Arden whispered, and the glass jungle answered with green corridors.
