🎨 How to color it

Color the tiger mask golden orange, the stripes deep black, the little stars sunny yellow, and the corner leaves bright jungle green. Use broad crayons or markers for the big cheeks and forehead, then switch to a sharp pencil for the small spirals and dots. Try making the empty eye circles a pale sky blue so the mask looks secretly awake.

Behind the lantern shelves, a tiger cub kept one paper star under his paw. Lumi needed it tied to the festival mask before the gong went bong-bong, but the tying string was across the big mask room, where shadows smelled like glue and warm paint. He took one step from his cozy rug. Then another. Shh—this is the secret part: his whiskers shook, but his paws kept going.

Halfway there, a silver ribbon snagged on a wooden hook and ripped with a tiny tick. That ribbon was his “no-scared” ribbon. Lumi held his breath, traded the torn piece for a short blue string, and tied the star above the mask’s bright brow. “You can stay,” he whispered to the star. When he padded back, he did not have his old ribbon, but he had a star that knew the way. If you spot that little star, keep Lumi’s secret: it began under his paw.
