Every day after splash time, Zuzu sat by the riverbank ferns and ate one banana with the tiniest nibble first: nip! He had set himself a new challenge—five bites with his eyes shut, no peeking, not even at the peel.
Until one day, on bite two, something went plink behind the broad leaves. Because of that, Zuzu chewed slower, ears wiggling. Because of THAT, he heard plink-plonk-squish and imagined a frog band, a coconut drum, and maybe a banana ghost. “I am not peeking,” he whispered, grinning with banana on his chin.
Finally, the sound bounced right up to his toes: one little pebble rolling from his own curly tail! Zuzu laughed so hard his banana wobbled, but he kept his eyes shut for bite five. If you spot his smile, you can guess whether tomorrow’s challenge will be no giggling.
