🎨 How to color it

Color the monkey’s fur cocoa brown, the heart-shaped face and belly warm tan, the banana sunny yellow, and the sticker border pale sky blue. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big belly, ears, and tail, then let a grown-up help with the tiny nose and fingers if needed. Try making the raised waving hand a little lighter than the fur, as if it is catching a soft morning sunbeam.

The story behind this coloring page

Hugo’s White-Border Wonder — Every evening, under the paper lanterns, Hugo waved from the banana cart while shoppers rustled past with baskets that smelled like mint and rain. Read the full story →

Every evening, under the paper lanterns, Hugo waved from the banana cart while shoppers rustled past with baskets that smelled like mint and rain. He wanted one empty spot on the lantern market sign, but the sign keeper always sighed, “Too crowded, little wave.”

Until one day, a warm wind lifted the edge of Hugo’s white sticker border. Because of that, he heard a tiny tick-tick inside the curl near his tail. Because of that, he peeled up the corner no one ever checked and found a golden welcome seed, humming like a bee in a teacup. “This belongs here,” Hugo whispered. At sunset, the seed sprouted a new signpost just his size, and every lantern shone on his grin. If you spot his raised hand, you’ll know he is still waving from the banana cart.
