🎨 How to color it

Color the whale soft aqua, the rocky ledges sandy gray, the bubbles pale sky blue, and the little spout a brighter turquoise. Use chunky crayons or broad marker strokes for the whale’s big smooth body, then switch to a sharper pencil for the cracks in the rocks and the tiny bubble shine spots. Try making the wavy water bands two different blues so the whale looks like it is wiggling through a cheerful striped sea.

Every day, Pippa swam between the tide shelves and tapped one bubble with her nose: boop. She wanted to invent a game noisy enough to make her own giggles echo off the flat rocks. One morning, she puffed a tiny spout, flicked her flipper, and shouted, “Bubble Boing!” The bubble bounced off a ledge, bumped another bubble, and went plip-plip-plop like popcorn in a pan.

Because of that, a crab dropped his seaweed sandwich. Because of that, three sleepy shrimp woke up and tried to boing bubbles with their tails. Soon the whole shelf was splashing, bonking, and laughing so hard the water smelled like salty foam. At last, Pippa made one giant gentle bubble and let everyone tap it together. Next time you spot the round bubbles by Pippa, can you tell which one is waiting for the loudest boing?
