🎨 How to color it

Color the flea honey brown, the collar bright teal, the paw-print tag silver, and the tall grass in two fresh greens. The flea’s body has big curved shell sections, so color one section at a time with chunky crayons or markers. Add pale blue to the wind swirls and a tiny rainbow streak along the jump line for extra bounce.

Under a warm curled leaf, Ludo tapped his springy feet: boing, boing, boing. He had made himself a secret challenge—jump three grass clumps before the wind could whistle twice. The meadow smelled like rain and minty stems. “Watch this, nobody!” he whispered, and shot out from his cozy cup into the swish-swish grass.

First clump, easy. Second clump, wobbly. Then a burr seed pod snagged in a spider’s old thread, rattling dry as a tiny drum. Ludo could still make his third jump if he zipped past. Instead, he hooked the thread with his foot, tugged hard, and tumbled into the mud with a plop. The pod rolled free toward a hungry field mouse’s doorway. Ludo limped home without finishing his challenge, but his collar tag jingled like a medal. If you peek at his curled feet and windy path, can you keep his secret too: boing, boing, gift?
