🎨 How to color it

Color the spider lavender with peachy leg joints, make the mushroom cap cherry red with cream spots, and use fresh green for the tall leaves around it. The spider’s many rounded leg sections are perfect for chunky crayons or broad marker strokes, coloring one oval at a time. Try making the big teardrop on the mushroom cap sky blue so it looks like a secret drop of rain.

The story behind this coloring page

Under the warm fern roof, Kiko tugged her dusty hammock and sneezed, “Piff!” She wanted one cool dew drop to wash it soft again. So she stepped away from her cozy web and climbed down the tickly stem, past bark crumbs and the peppery smell of mushrooms. At the spotted cap, a blue drop winked where no rain had fallen.

“Who put you there?” Kiko whispered. The drop answered, plip-plip, “Follow the hush.” Kiko crept around the cap and gave one silver thread to a shy snail who was stuck in moss. That was the price; her hammock would be smaller now. But under the mushroom, she found a whole quiet puddle glowing blue. She carried one drop home, and it hummed secrets while she washed. Next time you spot Kiko’s wide eyes on the mushroom, can you guess what the whisper drop told her?
