In the pebble tide pool, Pip patted foam with his two fins. Pat-pat, swish-swish. He wanted to make one pretty thing all by himself before nap tide.
The bubbles went pop. The foam slid away. Pip tried again, soft and slow. “Stay, please,” he whispered. One bubble stuck to his tail, then two more cuddled close, round and shiny.
