🎨 How to color it

Color the meteor rock smoky gray, its long flame tail orange and golden yellow, the ringed planet pale teal, and the scattered stars bright lemon. Use broad crayons or markers for the planet and rings, then switch to a sharper pencil for the tiny circles and little star points. Try making the meteor tail fade from red near the rock to yellow at the far streaks, like it is zooming fast past the planet.

Every night, Kiko zipped between the stars, sprinkling silver dust from a tiny pouch so the sleepy ones could blink awake. Zip-zip, hiss-hiss went his hot tail, and the dust smelled like toast and rain. Until one night, the pouch went flat beside the biggest ringed planet, and three baby stars nearby gave only dull little peeps.

Because of that, Kiko swooped lower, scraping through the planet’s cold shadow. Because of that, a loose pebble bounced from a ring and popped open like a nut. Inside was a hidden pocket of star seeds, tucked where nobody thought to look. “For them,” Kiko whispered, though no one was watching. He flung the seeds wide, and the baby stars burst bright enough to tickle his rocky cheeks. Next time you see Kiko’s streak near the rings, can you spot the secret place that saved the little stars?
