🎨 How to color it

Color the cat’s fur soft cream, the bubble helmet pale sky blue, the crescent moons buttery yellow, and the stars peach and lavender. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the big helmet, suit, and moons, and don’t worry if little hands color over the thick black lines. Try making each shooting-star trail a different bright color so the space around the kitty feels playful and twinkly.

In the hush past the pillow-moon, Pippa tapped her helmet and invented Follow-the-Whisker. She wanted one tiny star dash to chase her paw, straight as a string. “This way, little dash,” she whispered, and her whiskers tickled the glass: prr-prr-prr.

The dash shivered in the blue-dark quiet. Pippa’s purr made a warm, round sound, like milk in a cup. The dash stopped going straight and curled softly around her helmet instead. Soon the other dashes curved too, so no small star had to hurry alone.

Ever since, star trails bend gently around travelers in space. Next time you spot the kitty’s helmet, can you find the little lines still playing Follow-the-Whisker?
