In the hush past the pillow-moon, Pippa tapped her helmet and invented Follow-the-Whisker. She wanted one tiny star dash to chase her paw, straight as a string. “This way, little dash,” she whispered, and her whiskers tickled the glass: prr-prr-prr.
The dash shivered in the blue-dark quiet. Pippa’s purr made a warm, round sound, like milk in a cup. The dash stopped going straight and curled softly around her helmet instead. Soon the other dashes curved too, so no small star had to hurry alone.
