In the sleepy backwater bend, Tavi flicked his long tail through cool, slippery water. He wanted the roundest, comfiest swirl for an afternoon nap. Swish, swish, loop! The current curled around his toes, and the lily pad bobbed like a green plate. Tavi grinned and added one tiny wiggle, just to make the water hiccup.
Then the lily pad sneezed. “Pip-choo!” Out popped three silver bubbles and a crumb of pond-cake that nobody had thought to check underneath. Tavi laughed so hard his feathery gills wobbled. A water beetle peeked out and said, “That was my snack hat!” So Tavi shared the swirl, the beetle shared the cake, and the backwater bend felt exactly big enough for both of them.
