🎨 How to color it

Color the spinosaurus spring green, its striped sail sunny orange, the pond water pale blue, and the little fish coral pink. Use chunky crayons or washable markers for the big belly, tail, and sail, then add the small claw tips with a sharper crayon if your child wants. Try making every other stripe on the sail a darker orange so it looks like a funny little fan.

Beside the warm tidepool, Bex tiptoed through plip-plop mud with three crunchy seed cakes tucked under his chin. He wanted to leave them on the flat rocks before anyone saw. A silver fish blew bubbles, and Bex waved his tiny claws. “Shh, secret snacks!” he whispered.

He set one cake by the minnows, one by the crab holes, and one beside a sleepy snail. Then a smooth pebble went hee-hee. Bex blinked. Under it, the fish had hidden a shiny bubble necklace for him, made from pond foam and moon-shell bits.

Bex laughed so hard his sail wobbled. He shared the last crumbs with everyone anyway, and next time you see his waving claws by the plip-plop mud, can you spot who knew the secret first?
